These Songs Are Totally Random

So I listen to music a lot (obviously) and I am always finding songs that I love and can listen to on repeat for days. So I am going to give you a list of random songs, both old and new, that I have discovered over the years and tell you why I love them.

First up is All Things Lost by MS MR. I found this song via movie trailer and wanted to check out the full song. One of the best decisions I've ever made (not really), but still, this song is amazing. It starts off with a piano and slowly builds on top as the song progresses. I don't really know this band MS MR, but I know this song so and the woman's voice is amazing, plus the lyrics are awesome too.

Next is Free by Broods. This is their new single that just barely came out and I am in love. It is different from all their other stuff, but nonetheless, this song is the shiz. Not only are the lyrics cool, but the beat is hella rad.

Now we have Just One Yesterday by Fall Out Boy ft. Foxes, (come on, you knew it was gonna show up at some point). This song is off of their Save Rock and Roll album and it by far my favorite off of the album. Patrick Stump's is that of an angles (as always), and Foxes is amazing as well. It's all deep and dark and during the pre chorus has this piano thing going on that just sounds amazing and totally works for the song.

Speaking of Foxes, her song Amazing is, well, amazing. Foxes has a unique voice (I think so anyway), and the way she performs this song is really awesome. The song itself is fun and upbeat and it's all about have a fun time.

Smile by Mikky Ekko. I also found this song through a movie trailer (Paper Towns) and like All Things Lost, I decided to check it out. It's kind of a sad but not, if that makes sense, it's fun to listen to but the lyrics are kind of sad but amazing either way.

Lastly, and this is really random for my taste in music, but Stay by Rihanna is actually one of my favorite songs. I don't know why, but its just a good song and Rihanna performs it beautifully, and the lyrics are actually pretty deep, plus the melody is really cool.

Well that's it for know, see ya next time, hope you enjoyed this list of random songs!

Pump Me Up

As some of you may know, as well as a music lover I am an athlete, particularly in water polo, gosh how I love water polo. Anyway I decided I would share my "Pump Up," playlist that I often listen to before games incase you were looking for some new up beat songs or if you just wanted some good music  in general.

First up we have Castle by Halsey. I love to listen to this song before games because not only is the beat sick, but the lyrics are so awesome and "empowering" I guess you could say. I particularly like the lyric "Already choking on my pride, so there's no use crying about it." I don't know why, it just makes me feel invincible.

The next song isn't very well known. It's called Turn The Music Up by NF. This song is awesome. The lyrics just give off the vibe. They talk about being confident and not giving a crap about what people think. It also has a sick bass drop during the bridge and makes you feel like you can punch through walls.

I then have Victorious by Panic! At The Disco. This song is pretty obvious, and the title is a huge give away. It is an upbeat song and the lyrics are literally talking about winning. Perfect material if you want to crush your opponents.

I also have Heart of Fire by Black Veil Brides on my 'Pump Up' playlist. This is sort of a metal song so there is a wicked guitar and sick drums the whole song, not to mention that Andy Biersack has a sick voice.

Guns For Hands by Twenty One Pilots is one of my favorites. Though not a particularly fast song, Tyler Joseph's "rapping" just sets the mood.

Novocaine by Fall Out Boy. This song gives me life. It is super upbeat and I legit feel like I can run a marathon, and I hate running. It just gets you in the zone, you know?

Dream by Imagine Dragons. It starts out kind of slow, but once you get to the chorus, you'll see why it's on my playlist. The lyrics are just so powerful, you'll know what I mean when you listen to it.

Another Imagine Dragons song: I'm So Sorry. This. Song Is. The. Best. The first twenty seconds are quiet and then all of a sudden BOOM. Your heart will be racing a million beats per a second. I especially like the part when he screams "I'm so sorry" in the chorus.

Since I started with a Halsey I have to end with one. I Walk The Line. The beat, like Castle, is so unique and cool. It's isn't upbeat, but it just makes you feel powerful and the way Halsey's voice sounds just sends shivers down your spine. The last half is particularly awesome.

This is only a small fraction of my playlist and I wish I could share the rest of it with you, but we would be here all day. Hope this was helpful, see you next time!

She's Not Sleeping Beauty, But Might As Well Be

Recently, my friend has introduced me to this Norwegian singer called AURORA (yes she spells it in all caps). Needless to say I've become obsessed with her music and thought I would share my love for her with you.

A BRIEF HISTORY
Aurora Aksnes, her stage name AURORA, was born in 1996 in Bergen, Norway. She first discovered music when she found an electric piano in her parents attic. At the age of 1O, she began writing her own songs, and her mother encouraged her to play her music publicly.

She released her first single Under The Stars in 2014, followed by her single Runaway in February 2015. She received attention from pop star Katy Perry, who later made an appearance at one of AURORA'S shows in LA. AURORA then released her EP Running With The Wolves in April 2015. After a massive amount of attention from Radio One, Radio Two, and many other national BBC radio stations, she released two other singles called Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) in September of 2015 and Half The World Away in November 2015. AURORA plans to release her debut album Winter Bird in February 2016.

WHY I LOVE HER
There are many reasons why I love AURORA, but I think the main reason is, like the Broods, is because of the lyrics. They speak so much meaning to me and I can relate to them as well. My favorite song by her is Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1). There is something about the simple lyrics that gets to me every time I listen to it. I also love melody because its just so simple but powerful at the same time. My second favorite song by her, Running With The Wolves is amazing too. My favorite part about the song is the beat and melody. It's kind of upbeat but calm at the same time, leaving this satisfying feeling like to one you get after a long run. The lyrics of course, are amazing as well. Like all the others, they are well thought out and really work and flow together.
Another reason why I love AURORA so much is because of her voice. Her Norwegian accent sounds so cool with her music. It's also how deep her voice is too. It's not too deep, it's almost right between being a soprano and alto. Not deep, but not high either. Her voice complements her lyrics very nicely and I feel like if some else tried to sing her songs they just wouldn't sound nearly as beautiful.

Emperor's New Clothes (Not Groove)

If any of you are Panic! At The Disco fans like me, then you know whats been going on. Yesterday on October 21, 2015, (also the day Marty McFly came to the future but thats irrelevant), Panic! At The Disco released their new single Emperor's New Clothes along with the announcement of their new album, Death Of A Bachelor, to be released on January 15, 2016. Emperors New Clothes is by far my favorite Panic song, and the music video is even better. But to show you how much I love this song, I need to show you the video and explain in detail.

THE VIDEO
This video is revolutionary, it was so cool and different and amazing and gah! I love it!

Emperor's New Clothes  was action packed and interesting from the start. Beginning with the end of one of Panic! At The Disco's other video, This Is Gospel, it had the lead singer, Brendon Urie die, and instead of going to Heaven he went to the Under World. I'm not going to spoil anything because I know some of you haven't seen it, but it is amazing. The choreographing was phenomenal and the camera angels were so sick, it made the whole experience a lot cooler than it would be with just the standard camera angels. Another minor detail that made the video awesome, was that it was very Halloween-like, which is perfect considering it's October. Brendon Urie is an amazing "actor," and portrayed the character really well.

THE SONG
You obviously can't have a music video without the music. As I mentioned earlier, this song is by far my favorite Panic! At The Disco song. Emperor's New Clothes has great lyrics, and a great beat and melody. The lyrics are great, they speak a lot of meaning, mostly saying that if you take something from me or put me down in anyway, I will rise up bigger and stronger. Thats my personal interpretation anyway, but that is one thing I love most about the song, the lyrics.
Along with the lyrics is the beat. It's upbeat and just pumps you up, like you're ready to fight someone or are about to run a race. I know I'm definitely going to put this song on my "Pump Up" playlist for water polo games.
And don't even get me started on the high notes! Brendon Urie is one of those amazing people who can sing at any octave, and his speciality is hitting the high notes. He does it quite a lot in this song, but there is this one part during the bridge that his voice will just blow you away, it is so breathtaking!

Well that's all for now, please please please check out Emperor's New Clothes, and while you're at it check out the rest of Panic! At The Disco's music because it is awesome.

Bye! :)

Music Review Of The Amazing Broods

I have recently discovered this band called Broods, and I can honestly say that they are  by far one of my favorite bands, at least currently. But the sad part is, this very talented band isn't very well known, so I have made it my job to help you discover and enjoy this band as much as I do.

A BRIEF HISTORY
Broods is a band from New Zealand, made of of the two siblings Georgia Nott on the vocals, and Caleb Nott, who basically does everything else (talk about talent).

They formed in early 2013 after they had both dropped out of college to focus on their music career, and later in October released their single Bridges online. It became New Zealand's no.8 single in January 2014.
Broods then released their song Never Gonna Change shortly before they debuted their EP, Broods, one January 30 2014. They then released their debut album, Evergreen, August 22 2014, and it hit the New Zealand Album Chart at no.1.

WHY I LOVE THEM
I love this band because of their lyrics. They are so deep and well thought out and and I can relate to a few of them on a personal level. I love how the words sound together, like there is no better way to describe what Broods are trying to say.
Now, you can't just have amazing lyrics and crappy music. I love the beats and their genre of music, which I can only describe as indie-electronica-trip hop-pop. I love hearing the electronic stuff mixed with indie pop, something just makes it so cool to hear.
And her voice! Georgia Nott has an incredible voice. Its deep and sends this brooding (pun intended) feeling to the person listening. Her voice is unique, at least I think it is. You don't hear many artists anymore with the same voice as her, its just so interesting.
One last reason why I love them is because they are so passionate about their music. I mean, they even quit college to focus on their music career! And if you watch them live, my personal favorite is Never Gonna Change Live, you can tell that this means so much to them and that they love what they are doing.
(Another minor detail is that they don't use autotune which I think is awesome and makes me love them even more because lots of bands use autotune now and thats kinda sad so its cool that they don't).
